Passi di DanzaToday I found it extremely difficult to write. It was not because I didn’t have the time, instead I think that it was especially hard to write today because I was trying to catch up on all that writing I lost yesterday when Google Docs glitched. What a pain in the ass that was. Nonetheless, I managed to wring out a little more than 200 words. I also managed to pop in at the library today. I will hopefully be volunteering at the library as of next month, reading to kids and stuff. I suppose it’s always good to do some community work.

I intend to dedicated to tomorrow trying to finish the first draft of the short story I am currently working on. Right now I’m sitting with a word count of 1348, which I gauge is about half way through the story. I had intended for this one to be no more than 2000, but I’ll see where it goes and what it looks like after editing. For this story I decided to browse through story prompts until I found one that intrigued me. Surprisingly the one that caught my eye was completely out of my comfort zone and genre. “Ballet, Rooftop, Flashback.” Those three simple words had my mind racing.

Challenge accepted.

Hopefully I’ll have it ready by the end of this week. Perhaps I’ll post it on Sunday night then?

As for writing today, I think I’ll wrap it up for the night and settle into bed with Rachel Hartman’s debut novel, Seraphina.

Word count since the last check in: 1348

I’m still in the running!

Hi! I’m from Bohemian NERD and completely new to ROW80. I just wanted to say good luck on your word count. It is unnerving for me to stare at the numbers too long, they may bite. 🙂 Hope to see you around.

I’m new to the challenge too! 🙂

I find that completely ignoring the word count helps. It becomes rather daunting if you constantly watching you’re word count, so instead a I just let the words flow until I can’t anymore and then check.

I hope you reach your goals and have so fun while you’re working towards them.

    Thanks for commenting!

Ooh, interesting prompt! I can’t wait to see what you do with it.

Oh Seraphina is an excellent novel! I only recently found out there is a second book in the series now and I think my friend got an advanced reader copy. I saw it with my own eyes, so I know it exists. I think it’s being passed around my book reading friends. Hopefully I can read it soon. If you like a good fantasy story, with a strong female protagonist then you’ll like it. I would love to hear your view on Seraphina when you are done.

I am also curious to see what you come up with for this writing prompt.
