I think I am in a reading slump. Out of my January TBR of 6 books I only finished two…

Shocking… I know.

It was a difficult month all round. January is always tough. I was broke as fuuuuck and I was super stressed about how I was going to pay for my campus registration. But I figure it out, not without help, and now I can finally breathe.

So I finished Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas and OMG. And there are two new ships that have to happen! And that is all I am saying for now. Can’t wait for book five!Queen of Shadows

Rating 4

The second book I finished was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J. K. Rowling. I swear the more times I read it, the better it becomes. And that says a lot because I’ve read it at least 6 times and I already thought it was brilliant the first time. (I was eight or nine)

So my February TBR is basically a revised version of January’s. Sorry guys…
Vampire AcademyI am 3/4 in Vampire Academy already and I am really enjoying it. I plan on finishing it soon. I should probably get Frostbite.

The second book on my TBR list is Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift. I actually have to finish this one before the 15th of February for campus or I am going to be thoroughly screwed.

Thirdly, I’ve started Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I really enjoyed the first season and thought that if the television show is that good I can only imagine how great the books are.

It is highly likely that I will be reading Harriet Jacobs, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, as well as Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s Love in the Time of Cholera for university this month too. I want to say I am excited but the truth is that I tend to battle with books that are out of my comfort zone.

What are you guys reading?

Any advice on how to get out of a reading slump?

Wish me good luck!

I always find that the best way to get out of a reading slump is to reread a book that you love, or to read something you’ve highly anticipated. For example, I was in a huge reading slump last year. I have always loved the Princess Diaries books, and when I found out a new one was released I immediately bought it and zipped through it in a day. After that I felt much more motivated to get back into reading. Hope that helps!

I’ve been thinking about writing a post with tips to get out of a reading slump. Would you be interested in reading something like that?
