So I haven’t done one of these in a while, I’ve sort of been on an hiatus for the last two weeks or so, trying to adjust to working full time. I haven’t stopped writing though, in fact I’ve been writing a lot more than usual although most of it is for work. I’m writing at least three blogs a week for the company website along with content for our numerous social media pages.

I will admit I’ve been really lazy when it comes to my own blog and WIPs. I find that because I am sitting in front of a computer all day it has become really difficult to commit to writing when I get home from work. However, when I am at work and I’m in the writing mode it’s like my finger begin to itch and all I can think of is my WIPs, which I of cause can’t work on because I have work to finish and stuff. When this happens I pull out my notebook or phone and jot down whatever ideas I have and hope that I will still feel as enthusiastic about it when I get back to it at a later stage.

When I don’t have any freelance stuff to work on I squeeze in some writing time during lunch. Either way, I’ve been slacking…

Complete Divergent Series
Found the complete Divergent Series for R100 at a second hand bookstore!

On the other hand I’ve been buying books and reading a lot more than usual. I managed to find practically new copies of the Divergent Series at a second hand bookstore for R100. (that’s approximately $10) So I got through Divergent in like two days, it was absolutely amazing! I will do a review soon – I hope.

I am currently two thirds into Insurgent, however I’m finding it difficult to finish. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving this series but I stumbled across an Allegiant spoiler and yeah… Sadness and shit. Talk about a book hangover before even finishing the series.

I also discovered BookTube and OMG am I a tad bit obsessed. I’ve been watching Book Reviews and Book Hauls & Unboxings and I am so overwhelmed by the BookTube community. You guys are awesome! I’m discovering all these new books and series that I absolutely need in my tiny personal library. And thanks to BookTube I am now contemplating starting my own channel merely because there does not seem to be many South African BookTubers and I think we need a few.

Also, BookTube has convinced me to give Vampire Academy a second chance and to finally start reading Throne of Glass by Saarah J Maas.

So that’s it for the mid-week check in!

I’ve heard so many good things about it and am enjoying it thus far. I was a bit worried that it wouldn’t live up to the hype but its proving to by quite badass.

Booktube is wonderful and can suck you in for hours. I haven’t found a south African book tuber yet, I’d be interested in your channel.
